What Wendy Law is All About

I have a confession to make.

This website started out as a class project, thanks to Professor Andy Kale. I've been trying to find an excuse to use a class project for personal gain since I started the Advertising program at St. Clair College. The fact of the matter is, I've gained something from every class. Which brings me to today and to this website. Here is my story.

April 28th, 2005. I'll never forget that date. It was the first day I played a record. You know I didn't coin the term 'kid in a candy store' but I'm sure you get the point. That was also the day I decided to become an electronic music DJ. I had a dream to unite the people for the love of the music. My main goal was to establish the DJ Wendy Law brand so that I could turn my love for music into a career.

With the guidance of my best friend and mentor, DJ Sugar Ray, I took the necessary steps to have all promotional material needed to spread my name. I hired multiple graphic designers to help create my logo, website, business cards and demo CDs. I had a great time promoting myself and relied heavily on buzz marketing to spread my name. This is when I discovered my knack for promotion and advertising.

I was determined to get a post-secondary education and had two choices. To try for a career in music by taking a music production program, or learn more about brand management in an advertising program. The Advertising program provided me with the most opportunities after graduation so it was the logical choice.

After 3 amazing years in the Advertising program at St. Clair College, I've graduated with an 80%+, overachiever average. With an insatiable itch to learn more and a case of the travel bug, I packed my life into two suitcases and moved half way across the world to attend Griffith University in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

I'm now up to my ears with film projects and couldn't be happier to become proficient with the digital side of things. If you haven't already, check out the Mad Skills I've obtained since I made the smart choice to go back to school.

Now that I have all the tools to conquer the world, or at least help businesses do so, I have a new set of career goals in creative and communication industries which brings me to this website, and to you. After all, everything happens for a reason.

DJ Wendy Law Bio

"Nothing turns me on
more than turning people on
to the music."

A phrase heard by many of Wendy's close friends. Wendy's love for electronic music started with her first party, an event at the Molson Amphitheater in Montreal, Quebec with over 20,000 people. A 'baptism by fire' if you will.
Her love of the music only expanded while discovering new genres, until her good friends introduced her to breakbeats. That's when her love of music became a passion.

Wendy already had a strong musical background having completed grade 9 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. It only took one touch of a record before she realized she could never look back.
With the guidance of London's most established club DJ, Sugar Ray, Wendy excelled at the art of DJing and quickly became known amongst London, Ontario's growing scene.

Ontario's top promoters were immediately drawn to Wendy's sound. Wendy broke into the Toronto scene at the Destiny Halloween party playing along with some of Canada's leading breaks DJs.

While incorporating a new love for house, electro and dance into her sets, words like funky, fat and dirty have all been used to describe Wendy's pounding bass lines. A sound that has been heard at various events such as the World Electronic Music Festival, the Cutting Edge Music Festival, various Molson events, Boom Boom Room in Windsor, the Guvernment Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Volume Nightclub in Hong Kong as well as Avenue Nightclub in Gold Coast, Australia where she won the 'Hottest Female DJ' contest.
